We’re looking to expand our Bid Team with an experienced and enthusiastic Bid Writer.
If you have experience directly as a Bid Writer, or have a background as a Copywriter or journalist, then you should definitely apply for this role.
This is an opportunity for you to join a growing team, so we’re needing your proficient and persuasive writing skills to produce professional, compelling content that clearly articulates MASS’ value propositions.
You can be based from home, providing that you can attend meetings in either our Lincolnshire or Cambridgeshire office when required (especially during key stages of a bids production).
How you’ll support us
You’ll expertly develop content, either from pre-existing material or from scratch. You’ll be able to lead storyboard/content planning sessions, breaking down questions against evaluation criteria and then soliciting knowledge from Subject Matter Experts to create tailored responses:
- Lead content planning sessions with bid team members and key stakeholders
- Proactively develop compelling content provided by subject matter experts (using a variety of techniques such as ‘interviews’ to obtain information)
- Assist the Bid Manager in developing the proposal structure
- Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant
- Produce a library of ‘exemplar’ content
- Deliver completed written proposal responses to the Bid Manager against agreed deadlines, escalating issues as required
- Re-write / edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from business development, technical / product teams, innovation and delivery
- Ability to coach internal stakeholders in writing best practice
- The successful candidate will be required to update existing content within MASS’ knowledge base system.
The invaluable experience you’ll bring, to help us achieve more
We’re expecting that you’ve done this role before, so you’ll know how to do it whilst spinning multiple plates:
- Demonstrable experience of working within a busy team in a fast-moving, commercial environment working to tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate and influence at a senior level
- Strong time management/prioritisation skills
- Professional writing background (experience within Defence / technology would be beneficial)
- Advanced MS Word skills & proficiency in MS Office
It would be great if you are also:
- Able to create graphics using InDesign or similar.
- Certified to APMP Foundation or Practitioner Level.
One important non-negotiable:
Due to the highly-secure nature of the projects you will be involved with, you must be eligible to work in the UK and be eligible to undergo and maintain UK government SC Clearance.
