We’re growing our Electronic Warfare Operations Support Group (EWOS), a team of over 60 specialists from a wide range of backgrounds. Our engineers, scientists, and ex-military personnel work together to help our customers achieve the true operational potential and help keep their people and platforms safe.
As part of this growth, MASS is looking for a Graduate Solution Architect to play a valued part in supporting technical projects and bids across the EWOS division. These will range from multi-million-pound contracts to internal research and development, with a focus on cutting-edge technology. While working with our in-house professionals, you will gain technical skills and experience that will help you throughout your career.
Reporting to one of our Senior Solution Architects, this team predominantly work out of our modern offices in North Hykeham, and when project classifications allow, they accommodate a mix of office and home working. Giving you the best of both worlds: flexibility and collaboration.
How you’ll support us
These are the skills you will develop whilst in the role:
- Application of the Systems Engineering lifecycle and processes
- Assisting with technical proposals for bids
- Analysis and production of system (and sub-system) requirement specifications
- Management of requirements using specialist toolsets
- Production and review of designs and documentation
- Supporting Software and Test teams with acceptance criteria
- Communicating with the Business Development and Tech Sales teams to support customers

We’re expecting that this may well be your first engineering role, however as a starting point, we'd like to see a degree qualification in a STEM subject.
It would be ideal if you have an understanding of the concepts surrounding systems engineering and the engineering delivery lifecycle, from requirements through to design, implementation, testing and acceptance of integrated systems. This might include high-level system modelling.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
In addition, it would be nice to have one or more of the following skills:
- An understanding of SysML modelling
- Some programming knowledge (e.g. MATLAB, JavaScript, Python)
- Knowledge of Electronic Warfare and Radar Systems
- Knowledge of Computer Hardware components
- Knowledge of Computer Networks and Interfaces between systems (Systems of Systems).
