We are looking for a skilled MELMIL Manager with military service and staff experience (preferably joint rather than single Services) at the WO1/SO2 level or higher with excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities. The ideal candidate will be skilled at developing strong relationships with strategic customers and coordinating of multiple resources to deliver tailored, high-quality solutions to complex customer requirements.
How you'll support us
- Assist in identifying customer requirements and designing MELMIL events for exercises
- Coordinate and manage all MASS delivered aspects of MELMIL support, design, and delivery
- Provide clear guidelines for scenario and MELMIL design, implementation and usage
- Incorporate user feedback and internal validation to improve exercise MELMIL quality and effectiveness
- Facilitate MELMIL delivery with military customers, brief leadership on each exercise MELMIL
- Act as MELMIL manager to oversee the execution of MELMIL on each exercise, on location and as hosted by military customers
- Stay updated with security, Defence, and military (maritime and joint) trends and incorporate into MELMIL scripting
- Contribute to the development and sharing of MELMIL scripting best practice, this may include producing guidance documentation, training, information, and communications
- Flexible day-to-day response to meet customer’s capability requirements
- Responsible for identifying opportunities for business development
- Representing TSG and MASS at industry events and trade shows to grow existing and create new business leads and contacts. May include overseas travel.
Essential Experience
- Experience of working in a military environment and/or with a military customer
- Experience of planning and conducting military exercises or simulations
- A working knowledge of UK and NATO doctrines and operational concepts
- Experience of working at Joint and Operational levels
- Maritime and Amphibious experience
- Understanding of exercise design principles
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working in a team-oriented environment
- Keen eye for detail and ability to produce high-quality, error-free content
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Due to the highly secure nature of the projects that you will be involved with, you must be:
- A UK National and eligible to work in the UK
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government DV-level security clearance
