How you’ll support us

Working primarily on-site with the wider project team, you will be creating leading edge solutions to problems never worked on before; offering your data analytical and modelling expertise to be used in the subject of Electro Optics (EO) and their effect on the modelling of weapons systems - a project that is using groundbreaking science to support the UK's front-line Defence.

The invaluable experience you’ll bring, to help us achieve more:

  • Knowledge of modelling and simulation techniques, applied to real-world scenarios.
  • Experience in using MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience in stochastic and deterministic models, analysing large batches of simulation runs.
  • Generation of reports, providing recommendations and operation advice.
  • Experience in real time, and faster than real time, software environments.
  • Experience running Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) scenarios.

Desirable Knowledge:

  • EO domain knowledge and/or EO modelling experience (e.g. EO environments, EO Threat system understanding, EO countermeasure development).
  • Experience of system verification, validation and test.
  • Experience using C++.
  • Ability to quickly learn extant programming languages (e.g. FORTRAN).
  • Good understanding of the physics behind sensors, dynamics, optics and lasers.
