Job Description

The Role:

A Junior Software Developer is required to join the team at MASS, contributing to the design and development of software products and projects. These will be varied but are likely to include applications in the domains of Cyber Security, Law Enforcement and Electronic Warfare as dictated by our order book. The successful candidate will be required to hold UK security clearance.

We are interested in candidates who with 2 or more years in industry already. You will be a self-starting and proactive individual who takes pride in quality, values team work and collaboration and is not afraid to suggest improvement ideas. Adaptability is also a key requirement for this position. As is a willingness to coach and mentor more junior members of the team as required. You must be experienced with the Windows O/S, have an understanding of agile and waterfall methodologies, be able to code in Java and SQL, familiar with the Oracle RDBMS and at least one more of the following languages: C++, C#, Oracle PL/SQL.

In addition, it would be advantageous but not essential to be knowledgeable in some of the following:  more languages (including C, C#, C++, CSS, Delphi, Fortran, HTML, Javascript, LabView, MatLab, VB), Unix, NetBeans, Visual Studio, Test Driven Development, Git, Jira, Jenkins, Maven and Ant.

A BSc in Computer Science or Software Engineering would be advantageous but is not essential.

This  Senior Software Engineer role is for 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday initially based in Lincoln, however, the successful candidate must be willing to travel further afield to work on exciting projects at customer sites for extended periods e.g. several months or even a year (travel expenses would be paid).
