We require an IT Systems Administrator within an established team, to support a variety of technical environments. The role provides an opportunity to develop current skills and to learn new ones from a highly experienced team.

The main duties of the IT Systems Administrator are:

• Installing and configuring computer systems
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
• Providing face-to-face / telephone user support
• Troubleshooting, diagnosing and solving system / network problems
• Development of support documentation
• Following diagrams and written instructions to resolve a problem or configure a system
• Running network applications to support system and users
• Supporting new applications
• Responding within agreed time limits to requests for support
• Prioritising and managing several open tasks at any one time
• Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with users
• Testing and evaluating new technologies
• General preventative maintenance
• Keeping up to date with the latest technologies

The ideal IT Systems Administrator will have knowledge/experience of the following:
• PCs, Laptops, Mobile devices
• Windows Operating Systems
• MS Office
The following skills/knowledge is desirable but not essential:
• Understanding of Firewalls / Routers / Servers, Active Directory
• Virtualisation (Hyper-v and VMWARE)
• Familiar with concepts of WSUS / Group Policy / Active Directory /
• Network Infrastructure / WANs
• Backup Exec
• Knowledge of the Defence and Education markets
• Previous experience in a 1st or 2nd line support role
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week with company benefits.

You will need a full UK driving licence and the successful candidate must be eligible to hold UK SC Clearance.
