Job Description

The Change Manager is responsible for Strategic Change and Benefit Management on a complex defence IT and Software project level delivered by a team of around 100 industry and MOD personnel. Responsible for Quality Assurance at a system and project level, they ensure System Engineering principles and processes are adopted and adhered to. The successful candidate will work with MOD stakeholders to identify mutual benefits and then with the Project Manager on implementation of approved changes.

  • System engineer for complex IT and Software systems project, providing project controls and system engineering support to the project manager.
  • System and Project level Quality Assurance
  • Develop Joint Project Technical Strategy with MOD and provide assurance that Project Plans are coherent with strategic goals
  • Pursue Benefits from a collaborative project culture and record outcomes in a Value Added Log maintained jointly with the customer
  • Leadership and management of the Assurance Team comprised of ten experienced subject matter experts
  • Provide Change Management expertise – assess new projects for viability and determine resources required.

Mandatory Skill Requirements:

Hardware: Experience of managing or supporting IT and software system or complex systems with highly assured security and availability requirements.

Tools and Methodologies: Change & Benefits Management, Knowledge of ISO 15288, Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015

Markets: Defence

Desirable Skill Requirements:

Hardware: Experienced in management or support of Royal Navy Strategic Weapon System

Tools and Methodologies: ISO 44001, Experience in using the Six Sigma DMAIC model and/or Soft Systems Methodology (SSM)

Qualifications: BSc or BEng or equivalent experience, Chartered Engineer or Chartered Project Manager or in process of applying
