Electronic Warfare Operations Analyst

MASS are looking to welcome an experienced Electronic Warfare (EW) Analyst to our small team providing support to the NATO Joint Electronic Warfare Core Staff (NATO JEWCS) and its fleet of Electronic Warfare training assets.

The successful applicant would be expected to undertake the following tasks:

  • Provide EW related advice as the subject matter expert to customers on behalf of NATO JEWCS. 
  • Identify/deliver EW training requirements for JEWCS stakeholders (NATO Command Structure and Member Nations). 
  • Oversee the management and creation of EW Databases in support of the JEWCS EW training assets. (Threat stimulation/simulation, deception and noise techniques, radar characteristics, communication jamming….). 
  • Analyse results and compile post exercises feedback and identify/propose areas of improvement. 
  • Organise, deliver and supervise local EW training for NATO JEWCS personnel. 
  • Transfer and manage EW data from multiple sources into a single repository. 

Mandatory Skill Requirements 

The individual must have a minimum of 5-years of experience working in an Electronic Warfare environment and should have detailed knowledge of: 

  • Electromagnetic signals. 
  • Radio Frequency jamming principles (including noise and DRFM (Digital Radio Frequency Memory techniques)). 
  • Database creation and maintenance. 
  • Data management processes. 

Desirable Skills

In addition, it is highly desirable that the successful candidate has experience in:   

  • Electro Magnetic Spectrum (EMS) management. 
  • EW Database and User Management. 
  • EW Operational Planning. 
  • Electro-Optics (UV and IR). 
  • NATO organisation and mission. 

The successful applicant would be expected to perform non-routine duties and be generally required to work with minimal supervision. They must be a mature and experienced EW professional capable of working independently; using professional judgement, technical knowledge, experience, and understanding of the needs of the organisation to select the best solutions to problems and implement changes in accordance with customer requirements. They would be a well-motivated, pro-active individual with a good standard of written and spoken English. 

The successful candidate will be required to hold, or be in a position to qualify for NATO Secret (NS) Security Clearance.
